Freatured Painting

Elizabeth Roskam

is an award winning artist who received her

BFA degree from the University of Michigan

(Go Blue!). She has done extensive work in interior design, graphic design and pen and ink drawings. Her work has been featured in The Hill, The Daily Herald, The Washington Post, Roll Call, Politico Playbook and NBC Chicago. She continues to pursue her creative passion almost exclusively in oil painting.

Elizabeth is often asked what inspires her to paint. Her answer is:

"Beauty. And beauty comes in many forms: in color perspective, light and proportion. And nothing is more beautiful than the work of God. The Psalmist must have been thinking of a sunset when he wrote: 'The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands."" (Psalm 19:1)

Elizabeth lives outside Chicago with her husband Congressman Peter Roskam and their four children. Elizabeth has been a member of the Portrait Society of America and the DuPage Art League.

Elizabeth serves on the Ford's Theatre Board of Trustees, the DuPage Convalescent Center Foundation Board and the Jonahre Foundation Board.

Inaugural Dome

I was honored to have my original painting "Inaugural Dome" presented to First Lady

Melania Trump at the Annual First Lady's Luncheon in Washington, DC. The painting depicts Chief Justice Roberts administering the oath of office to Donald J. Trump. The First Lady, in her beautiful, blue dress, is holding the Bible surrounded by their family. The US Capitol is adorned with American flags and military colors are posted below the podium next to the military band.
